Information for Students of All SSW Programs
SLU Scholarships
SLU's School of Social Work has streamlined the process for scholarships. Every applicant is automatically evaluated to determine qualification for scholarships from SLU鈥檚 School of Social Work. Applicants are notified of their scholarship amount at the time of their admission decision. Programs such as graduate assistantships have separate requirements.
Outside Assistance
In addition to the loans, grants and other opportunities available to all SLU students, multiple resources are available to students studying social work, criminology and criminal justice and applied behavior analysis.

Information for SSW Graduate Students
Graduate Assistantships
Full Graduate Assistants work 20 hours a week and receive tuition remission for one academic year, as well as a monthly stipend and the option for health insurance coverage. Graduate assistants provide assistance with research/scholarship, teaching, community engagement, and other professional or departmental activities.
Partial Graduate Interns work either 8 or 16 hours a week and receive $5,000 or $10,000 respectively in tuition remittance for the academic year. Graduate interns provide assistance with research/scholarship, teaching, community engagement, and other professional or departmental activities.
Eligibility Requirement: Awarded to newly accepted master鈥檚 or returning students enrolled as a degree-seeking student in the School of Social Work
All Graduate Assistantships/Internships are 9 to 12 month positions, beginning in the summer, fall or spring of each academic year. Individuals can only be awarded a Full Graduate Assistantship for one academic year. Internships can be awarded for up to two consecutive years.
Applications open the first week of January and close March 1. Candidates are notified in April.
Doerr Diversity Fellowships
Students awarded the Doerr Diversity Fellowship work closely with the Saint Louis University Emmett J. and Mary Martha Doerr Center for Social Justice Education and Research, and are required to perform duties as assigned by the center throughout the duration of their fellowship.
Doerr Fellows serve as members of the School of Social Work's Equity and Inclusion
Committee and receive full tuition remission for up to two years. This fellowship
does not include a stipend or health insurance nor does it cover any fees. Doerr Fellows
are expected to actively participate in the diversity, equity and inclusion activities
sponsored throughout the year by the Doerr Center for Social Justice.
Eligibility Requirement: Awarded to newly accepted master鈥檚 enrolled as a degree-seeking
student in the School of Social Work.

Tuition Remission Financial Support Opportunities
Students can apply to participate in faculty-mentored professionalization experiences, allowing them the opportunity to seek tuition remission.
