Applying for OB/GYN Residency
SSM Health/ 老司机福利网 School of Medicine's OB/GYN residency program consists of 24 residents, six per year.
Six positions will be filled in the 2025 Match for the 2025-26 academic year. All applicants need to apply using the ResidencyCAS (Centralized Application Service) from Liaison International and the Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). We will use the National Residency Match Program (NRMP) for the Match.
How to Apply
Applications are accepted through ResidencyCAS only. Emailed or faxed applications will not be reviewed.
The deadline for submission of your ResidencyCAS application to be considered for the 2025 Match is Friday, Oct. 4, 2024. Early applications are encouraged.
Application Requirements
Your application is considered complete when we have received your ResidencyCAS application, personal statement, photo, three letters of recommendation, medical school transcripts, MSPE (Dean's Letter), ECFMG certificate (if applicable) and documentation of national USMLE or COMLEX results/scores.
We accept both American and foreign medical graduates. There are no minimum scores and clinical experience is not required. We look at the entire application as a whole and invite the best 100 or so candidates out of the 600 or so applications that we receive. While scores are important, so are your transcripts, recommendation letters, personal statement, etc. We will sponsor J-1 visas, but not H-1B visas.
Interviews
All interviews will be virtual and the dates are on Friday mornings in November and December 2024.
We will send our first wave of invitations on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2024. We will wait 48 hours for applicants to respond to an invite before inviting someone else.
Interview Communication
SSM Health/ 老司机福利网 OB/GYN follows the NRMP's Code of Conduct and the recent recommendations from CREOG, APGO, and the Right Resident, Right Program, Ready Day One project workgroup regarding interview communication. We understand it is not always clear how applicants should proceed before and after interviews, so we have provided the information below to help during this process.
Pre-interview communication: Use your silver or gold signal to indicate interest. Please do not have your school contact us directly.
Post-Interview communication: To limit bias and confusion, we ask you to refrain from post-interview communication unless you have a specific question after the interview day. We are trying to avoid misleading statements and want all our candidates to know if we interview you, you are a suitable candidate for our program. Our post-interview silence in no way indicates that we are not interested in you as an applicant.
Thank-you cards/notes: Please note they are not required/expected and they do not play a part in our rank list selection.
Second-look visits: We are not offering second-look visits/in-person visits to ensure equity amongst all the applicants.
