Student FAQs About Midyear Commencement
Students should arrive at least an hour before the ceremony starts, dressed in full cap and gown.
All students will be individually recognized, their names will be called, and they will walk across the stage.
There are no pre-commencement ceremonies in December.
Students participating in the Mid-Year Ceremony will receive their diploma cover during the ceremony when they walk across the stage.
You can only walk for one major at the Midyear Commencement Ceremony. If you would like to walk for both majors, you must defer your participation for one or both degrees until the May Ceremony.

Yes, at the Midyear Commencement Ceremony, all students’ names are called, and all students walk across the stage.
Students are seated by school, college, or another degree-granting center. This layout changes based on the number of students participating, so we cannot advise you on where to sit to see your student best.
Students and families should reunite outside of Chaifetz Arena on Laclede. Families should not enter the parking lot adjacent to Chaifetz Arena.
