Julie Thole, Ph.D.

Associate Professor
Biology

Courses Taught

Principles of Biology I, Principles of Biology II, Principles of Genetics, Molecular Techniques Lab

Education

B.S., University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Ph.D., Washington University in St. Louis

Research Interests

Thole is a plant molecular geneticist, and her research interests range from cell biology and microscopy to plant development and hormone responses, using the model organism Arabidopsis. Thole collaborates with Brian Downes, Ph.D., , using Arabidopsis to study the role of the Membrane-anchored Ubiquitin-fold (MUB) proteins. Additionally, she is studying the role of abscisic acid in root elongation.
