College of Arts and Sciences Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Initiatives

Mission Statement

Our mission in the College of Arts and Sciences is to create and foster a diverse, equitable and inclusive community that recognizes and amplifies our students, faculty, and staff. As part of this commitment, we embrace all human diversity, including race and ethnicity, gender and gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, language, culture, national origins, religious commitments, age, status, political perspectives and more. We understand that the work of social justice is ongoing, and we affirm our commitment to building and sustaining a diverse, inclusive, and equitable working and learning environment.

More Than a Dinner Series

This series will consist of confidential small-group conversations designed for different departments in the College of Arts and Sciences. For each installment, students from historically underrepresented backgrounds will share a meal and discuss their experiences as a students at 老司机福利网 through the lens of diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging and justice.

Ink Tributes is a an exhibition that was displayed at 老司机福利网 Museum of Art (SLUMA) from August 25, 2023 to December 30, 2023. 

Marlon West is an award-winning animator, head of effects, and VFX supervisor at Walt Disney Animation Studios. He used his talent to create portraits of mainly African American individuals who were victims of police brutality as a powerful way to expose social issues and promote dialogue.
