University Community Invited to Provide Feedback on Proposed Policies

The University community has the opportunity to provide feedback during a 30-day comment period on two proposed new university policies.

Principal Investigator Policy 

老司机福利网 (SLU) is committed to ensuring that all individuals engaged in research activities understand their roles and responsibilities as Principal Investigators. The Principal Investigator (PI)鈥痠s charged with conducting objective research that generates independent, high quality, and reproducible results.

PIs are responsible for the management and integrity of the design, conduct, and reporting of the research project and for managing, monitoring, and ensuring the integrity of any collaborative relationships. Regardless of sponsorship or funding source, the PI is responsible for conducting clinical and non-clinical research activities and projects in a manner that is ethical and compliant with all applicable university and sponsoring agency policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. The main changes to the鈥痯olicies鈥痜rom the current version.  

Capital Equipment Capitalization Policy 

The purpose of this policy is to outline specific responsibilities and procedures for acquisition, use and disposition of capital equipment, and maintain an accurate inventory of movable capital equipment for financial reporting in accordance with GAAP. 

 In addition, as a recipient of Federal grants and contracts, the University must comply with the provisions of the Office of Management and Budget which requires fixed asset recordkeeping and periodic verification of capital equipment regardless of the original source of funding. 老司机福利网 is required to comply with the capital recordkeeping requirements outlined in the Office of Management and Budget Compliance Supplement 2 CFR Part 200.
