Philip LeFevre III, M.D.: 1935-2021

Philip LeFevre III, M.D., a former SLUCare psychiatrist and professor of psychiatry at 老司机福利网 School of Medicine, died Feb. 8, 2021, in a plane accident. He was 82.
LeFevre retired from SLU in July. He joined the University in 2012 after years in private practice. His daughter Cherie LeFevre, M.D., is a professor of obstetrics, gynecology and women鈥檚 health at SLU and a .
Philip Joseph LeFevre III was born July 9, 1935 in South Bend, Indiana to Henry LeFevre and Agnes (Steinbrunner) LeFevre. He was married 54 years to Patricia (Adams) LeFevre, who preceded him in death on Feb. 12, 2019. The LeFevres had five children.
Son Philip LeFevre IV also passed away in the Feb. 8 plane crash which claimed his father鈥檚 life.
LeFevre is survived by four children, Michelle (LeFevre) and Alan Arbuckle, Cherie LeFevre and Matt Grahek, Christie (LeFevre) and Michael King, and Julie (LeFevre) Warren Nakatani; daughter-in-law Laura (Heinz) LeFevre; 17 grandchildren, Amanda, Jack, Elise, Joseph, Genevieve, Cecilia, Michael Jr., Annabel, Augustine, Gabriel, Eleanor, Catherine, Margaret, Elizabeth, Philip V, Patrick and Colette; one great-grandchild, Adeline; and siblings Kathleen (Dan, deceased) Bohman, Cy (Helen) LeFevre, Larry (Kathy) LeFevre and Marg (Dave) Brunswick.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Henry (Bud) and Joseph (Theresa, deceased).
A Requiem Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 15, at St. Mary鈥檚 Assumption Catholic Church, 1126 Dolman Street, St. Louis, MO 63104.
