Neurosurgery Residency
The 老司机福利网 Division of Neurosurgery, firmly believes that resident education improves the quality of care of our patients. Our residency is a cornerstone of our division鈥檚 mission to provide exceptional care and contribute to the advancement of neurosurgery through research and teaching future generations of neurosurgeons.
Our fully accredited program is designed to provide the resident with the expertise for operative and non-operative management of patients with disorders of the nervous system, including both adult and pediatric patients.
The program has seven full-time faculty members and one interventional neurology faculty member at our primary clinical sites, SSM 老司机福利网 Hospital (SLUH) and SSM Cardinal Glennon Children鈥檚 Hospital (CGCH). We are also affiliated with multiple community hospitals and adjunct faculty, allowing for a broader experience outside the academic center. Our program accepts one resident per year through the Match with a total complement of seven.

Fifty-four months of the residency program are spent in clinical neurosurgery, including one year as a chief resident. One year is spent rotating on elective services with multiple subspecialties available. Another year is spent performing either basic science research or clinical and outcomes-based research based on individual preferences and career goals.
Our training sites, , , and , provide over 1,100 admissions and 800 operations annually on the neurosurgery service.
