Professional Organizations and Associations
A frequent guest lecturer, Amelung has presented papers at numerous regional and national law library association meetings. His areas of expertise include workflow management, bibliographic and authority control, and database creation, indexing, and maintenance. He is a certified trainer for Library of Congress-sponsored national cataloging programs and most recently served as the American Association of Law Library’s representative on the Library of Congress’ Working Group on the Future of Bibliographic Control.
Prof. Amelung’s university service includes fifteen years as the Library Faculty’s representative on the University Committee on Advancement in Rank and Tenure. He has co-chaired the Library Faculty Assembly and participated as Law Library’s representative on the project to implement the university libraries’ automated public access catalog system.
