Chaifetz School of Business Welcomes New Faculty For 2023-24
老司机福利网鈥檚 Richard A. Chaifetz School of Business is pleased to welcome five new full-time faculty members to SLU this semester.
鈥淭he Chaifetz School of Business is ready for another exciting and dynamic school year,鈥 said Barnali Gupta, Ph.D., Edward Jones Dean of the Chaifetz School. 鈥淲ith transformative research, school and program rankings on the rise, and a plethora of experiential learning opportunities that include engaging with our local business, startup and entrepreneurship communities, we are truly where Mission Meets the Market.
It brings me great pleasure to introduce our new faculty colleagues, who bring their experiences and expertise to the Chaifetz School of Business.鈥
The new Chaifetz School faculty members for 2023-24 are:
Mindy Kim, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Accounting department. Kim earned her Ph.D. in accounting from the University of Arizona, her M.S. in accounting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and her B.A. in library information science and management from Yonsei University in South Korea. She will teach auditing and taxation in addition to an accounting capstone course. Her research interests include auditing, corporate governance and financial reporting.
Minjung Lee, Ph.D., assistant professor in the International Business department. Lee earned her Ph.D. in international management studies at the University of Texas at Dallas and her M.S. in organizational studies and B.S. in business administration at Hanyang University in South Korea. She will teach Asian business and Asia-Pacific business strategy, and her research interest focuses on sustainability, nonmarket strategies and public policy. In addition to her academic work, Lee brings her experience as an international trade operations specialist for Dow Chemical Korea and a strategic planning specialist for Nu Skin Enterprise Korea.
Jill Politte, MBA, instructor in the Marketing department. Politte earned her MBA from the Chaifetz School of Business and her B.A. in history and religion from Lindenwood University. She brings almost 15 years of experience in the business world, including her current role as a category strategist at Nestle Purina, where she has worked since 2012, and previous roles at Anheuser Busch, Ipsos-P&G and Evaluation Management & Training. Outside of work, she serves the community as sponsor of the SLU Marketing Club, as a Purina Ambassador and Shelter Partner, a member of the St. Louis Public Schools Marketing Advisory Board, in ministry support for Young Life St. Louis City, and as PTO president at Mallinckrodt Academy of Gifted Instruction.
Dasol Sim, Ph.D., assistant professor in the International Business department. Sim earned his Ph.D. in business administration (strategy and international business) from Florida International University, and his M.S. and B.A. degrees in business administration from Konkuk University in South Korea. He will teach international business strategies and environment, and his research interests include the roles of the CEO and CFO, executive succession and compensation and corporate governance. In addition to his classroom experience, Sim has worked as a research assistant at FIU, as a full-time researcher at South Korea鈥檚 Research Institute for Global Management of Technology and Innovation and as operations manager for two South Korean firms, Autoliv Korea and Tesco Homeplus.
Tiancheng Zhao, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Operations and Information Technology Management department. Zhao earned his Ph.D. in business administration (operations management) from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and his B.E. in industrial engineering from Tsinghua University in China. He will teach prescriptive analytics. His research interests include pricing and revenue management and choice modeling.
